Minneapolis, Mn July 30, 2007 World Future Society members were invited to assist in the launch of the Blog site so that a community of interest can start to discuss and debate subject matters across the universe of ideas. Adam Cohen and I created this website for this event and will continue to find other groups, both online and in the real world, to join the world of bloggers.
The presentation, attended by more than 50 members of the WFS was well received and rather interactive. After Stan gave his presentation of the history of blogging and what can be expected, the session moved to its second component part that being a wonderful piece from UTube which asked Did You Know. Futurists were all intrigued by the thoughts provoked by the video. For the purposes of being part of the experience we attach the video here so please enjoy…
The purpose of the video being played at the WFS presentation was to create thought on what was just seen and the audience was asked to write a few thoughts about their perceptions and feelings. Audience members then volunteered to express their writings and so the group got a feel for what blogging is. Now two thoughts were alike and no two persons experienced the video in the same way, yet we all had perceptions and when we wrote them down and heard a sampling we realized blogging is just that. The session then went on to its third element at which time Adam Cohen, Web architect, walked the audience through the site.
The session ended during the fourth part of the agenda the question and answers. The interactivity of the session was highly spirited and showed that there is a blogger in each of us.
We attach our powerpoint presentation so that readers can see what they missed at the World Future Society presentation of “So You Want To Be A Blogger”.
We hope you will sign in and post a blog, or at least comment on the stories posted. Don’t forget to tell us where you are so that our map can be updated with each posting.
