I have a personal story to tell today. Yesterday my son Adam celebrated his 27th birthday and hosted a party not for that occasion. He actually invited about 100+ people to celebrate his engagement to Suzanne Keith.
I had the pleasure to meet Suzanne’s relatives and found them to be wonderful people who certainly shared with me their same feelings for Adam that I have for Suzanne. They are two lucky people to have found each other in this rather large wondrous world in which we live.
Suzanne is originally from Ft. Worth Texas and Adam is a Long Island boy. Suzanne came to New York City about 7 years ago and met Adam last year. Their friendship and then love blossomed over this past year and it has been a fun ride watching their relationship grow towards their impending nuptials.
Suzanne’s mother is a bright articulate woman with whom I shared a brief moment in our mutual celebration, but in that moment over this weekend, I know that Suzanne is a well bred, sweet young lady, who has been taught well the lessons or propriety, right and wrong and all the attributes to make a loving person who will be a blessing to my son.
Suzanne’s father is a Texan through and through but who explained that he grew up on the same Yankee teams that I did, following every hit and injury that Mickey Mantle faced and every moment of every world series which were such a party of our growing up.
Suzanne’s brother and recently married sister-in-law, Tim and Kari were also wonderful people to meet and share some stories and gain some insights into who they are.
But let me not leave out my family, the pride I feel for Adam, the rising star that Heather is becoming, and even their Mom, who has made a new life after our divorce. I love the fact that we can share our family celebrations with our next families with as much love and friendship as we have for each other.
So I announce with pride that anyone who knows me, or anyone who might care to watch the ride of my son, Adam, and his fiancee, Suzanne should go to their website www.adamandsuzanne.com. Just another achievement for them of which I take great pleasure and pride.
God Bless them and I wish only happiness and joy for their lives.
