We know who the Republicans are and we think we know what the Democrats stand for, but if you want to win the Presidential election in November 08 then you should be a Repubocrat. The left side of the Democratic party has no voice in America. The Right side of the Republican party has a very loud voice in America and tremendous political clout, but not enough to win elections. So the next candiate on the Republican side will come from the centrist part of the party, and the Democratic candidate will come from the right side of that party. Someone who crosses between the right side of the Democratic party and the central part of the Republicans will have the base to win the election.
So what are the stances on the major issues?
Iraq: You must be ready to enforce a deadline which is created by successes or failures. That means the Iraqi government must do something by a certain date which relieves our responsibility. That would be a milestone that allows some members of the American military to come home. Conversely, if the Iraqis miss some milestone marker then they should face consequences of having some portion of the American military come home. The candidates who most directly espouse a view toward withdrawal not as a victory or a defeat but as an inevitable end will win the hearts of the Demopublican, and that will win the election.
Immigration: As written earlier only a small portoin of Americans want to see illegal immigrants sent to jail or deported. Most feel that the hard working people serve a very important purpose in the American economy. But a like small percentage from the other side want them to have amnesty toward citizenship. What we need is a set of rules allowing them to stay as a class (resident laborer). Paying a fee, taxes, social security and other amounts to the US, state and local governments to assure funds to pay for services that they will need is essential and assuring that America does not lose its heart to the less fortunate of the world, and assuring that Americans still have the ability to work to pay their own family expenses. Therefore, a new class of tax paying and fee based residents who can stay but must assist the governments in their obligations to pay for social services will win the hearts of republicrats.
Abortion: The woman’s rights to choose is a standard that most members on the left of middle agree with. A prohibition against abortion, because it is murder is a stance that most people to the right say out loud. Therefore where does the middle stand. They are looking for a new way of defining the issues. A woman should have the right to choose for a period of time. Then medical propriety not necessarily medical necessity should be the standard for the next part of the term. Finally, medical necessity should be the only reason for abortion in latter stages in the pregnancy. Mr. Guiliani is smart in breaking with the Pope and the Republican Right this early on. He is not in their hearts as McCain and Romney may be. So he cannot win their votes anyway. So he leaves them with their candidates and he goes after the Repubocrats, and wins the nomination by doing so. Congratulations on a spectacular strategy. Then in the general election he will be the choice of those same right wing republicans because he will be the lesser of evils against any of the democrats running.
Education: Everyone should get an education in America that is both valuable and enriching. General studies, the arts, physical education are all important aspects of education. But sciences math and technology are likewise important in this global economy. Therefore, it is important for the candidate from the middle to shout that he will support federal funding for education to assure that every student passes minimum standardized tests. Rightists cannot complain about helping to make America and the next generation of Americans the best they can be. And leftists will support education initiatives no matter what. Again the middle will be supported. College education is getting out of hand, so every American should be granted all costs of education with a choice to either pay all amounts back to the Government within a time certain, or give 2 years of his life to serving the country in any number of capacities. A student can re-pay his loan either by serving in the armed services, or any number of social programs or he can just pay back the loans over time. Just as one example, it is clear that Walter Reade Hospital needs further support.
STEM CELL RESEARCH: The middle of society fully supports such research for its legitimate purpoes. Only the religious right believes that it is so wrong as to be deemed an affront to god. The Democans will support the research and the funding of same. The Repubocrat will stomp his feet to assure continued research toward medical successes in combatting several diseases and functioning. The Demolican will stand behind and make sure that the research continues. The middle of the Republican party and the entire democratic party will follow a candidate that assures members of the voting public that that this medical science is about to make a difference in the lives of many a diseased person. But the candidate who crosses the middle will win the vote on this issue too.
There are many more issues but they all have a left and right point of view. It is the candidate that gets the hearts of the middle that will win the next election. Unless of course the votes are not counted, then Secretary Baker’s candidate will win and he will announce that the election is over.
How do you think a candidate finds his path to the white house? I’m listening.
