Once again Bono and friends were on hand at another G8. But all that’s starry does not necessarily produce a new development paradigm for Africa or tackle climate change.
Guardian’s Larry Elliot on the G8 shortcomings from last week. Folks at Priceofoil concur.
And BBC’s Glenda Cooper agrees as well. Walden Bello walks us through the details and detrius via his Znet column.
Bono’s final assessment: the G8 communique was “bureaubabble”.

1What did you expect?… progress?… Agreements?… Plans?… solutions? Bureaubabble is great news. There has to be a groundswell from the populace to make a change. When are we, the people, going to do something about it.
